MANILA WATER FOUNDATION FORGES PARTNERSHIP WITH GOOD NEIGHBORS FOR EFFICIENT DISASTER RESPONSE
Manila Water Foundation (MWF) and the Good Neighbors International Philippines (GNIP) recently signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their commitment to bring immediate relief to disaster-afflicted communities in the country via the provision of potable water during displacements.

Manila Water Foundation (MWF) partners with Good Neighbors International Philippines (GNIP) for a more efficient disaster response via immediate water relief to individuals displaced by natural calamities and conflict nationwide.
The partnership was formalized through the signing of memorandum of agreement which symbolizes both organizations’ commitment to provide potable water, a resource that is often placed at risk in times of disasters, to Filipinos in dire need.
Through MWF’s Agapay Para Sa Barangay program, said organizations will be able to strengthen their advocacy of bringing safe and clean water to disaster-afflicted communities. As the corporate social responsibility arm of the Manila Water group of companies in the Philippines, MWF is equipped to supply bottled potable water and mobile water treatment facilities. On the other hand, GNIP is capacitated to fulfill the timely delivery, deployment, and distribution of said relief.
During the MOA signing, MWF Executive Director Carla May Beriña-Kim emphasizedshared the importance of having organizations like GNIP on board for a more strategic disaster response.
“Collaboration is the key to creating greater impact. We find it necessary to tap like-minded organizations to partner with Manila Water Foundation as we provide clean and potable water to communities in times of disaster,” she shared.
Aside from sharing said goal, MWF and GNIP are aligned in terms of providing proper sanitation and educating individuals about the importance of having proper hygiene in preventing diseases. This said, GNIP Country Director Seok Won “Steve” Yoon shared his anticipation to explore further collaborations with MWF.
“Our partnership with Manila Water Foundation will open doors to many opportunities to collaborate for WASH-related programs,” he stated.
